Purpose
To promote the profession of law librarianship and support the advancement of law libraries by offering educational opportunities, skill-building initiatives, and career-focused outreach. The committee fosters a spirit of cooperation among members and engages library/information school students through initiatives that introduce them to the field and its career paths.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver seminars, classes, and other learning experiences that enhance workplace effectiveness and professional expertise.
- Provide a forum for discussion of techniques, trends, and challenges in law librarianship.
- Ensure a diverse range of programming tailored to the growth and enrichment of law library professionals.
- Represent all types of law libraries through inclusive committee membership.
- Solicit program ideas annually from the general membership.
- Organize career-oriented engagement events such as breakfasts/luncheons and library tours.
- Facilitate internship and networking opportunities for students.
- Collaborate with external organizations to support student career development initiatives.
